1) There are metal Bx cables covering the electrical lines in the house. 2) Notice the three 2 x 12" beams placed side-by-side. This is a stronger support than one solid, wood beam that is the same width and height. 3) Due to the large settlement crack in this concrete block foundation wall, more support was needed. Excessive cracks occur when the house settles unevenly over time. 4) An adjustable, metal lally column was placed underneath this wood main girder beam. Temporary columns should be replaced with solid, metal support posts that have a sturdy base. |
