Was Russ Whitney ever a Marine? by John T. Reed

Russ Whitney has never claimed to be in the military in any of his publications or recordings as far as I know. A guy who was himself a Marine and who worked for Whitney in the late eighties said he never heard Russ claim to have been a Marine. But someone told me his employees said his crew cut was a carryover from his days as a Marine.
I asked the government for his military record. An archives technician wrote back promptly and said, “I was unable to locate a record under either the name or the Social Security number you gave.”
The name I gave was Russell Andrew Whitney. I got and confirmed his social security number from various investigative sources.
The only way he could have served in the Marines would have been under a different name and social security number. That, of course, would be illegal. Furthermore, since he went to civilian prison for robbery on August 30, 1974 at age 18 3/4, he could not have served a full four-year tour in the Marines even under another name. Serving less than a full tour is also generally illegal.
I have no reason to believe he ever served in the military under any name. I have heard that he attended private military school in California or Texas briefly around age 16. I would like to hear from anyone who knows about his school attendance between December 1970 (age 15) and August, 1974 (age 1Cool.
I am also curious as to why some of his employees are telling people that Russ was in the Marines.

CONSUMER WARNING NOTICE: I recently saw Russ Whitney on a late night TV infomercial and then attended one of his "free" seminars. Unfortunately I believed all of their LIES and FRAUDULENT CLAIMS and I paid thousands of dollars to go to his "training camps". Needless to say I was clearly ripped off, cheated and lied to by Russ Whitney and his employees (band of thieves). My mistake was not searching the Internet to find out more about Russ Whitney and his company's HORRIBLE reputation for fraud, deception and illegal activities. Had I searched online I would have found out about THOUSANDS of customers being cheated, HUNDREDS of investigations by the Attorney General into the fraud of Russ Whitney and his company's, and that Russ Whitney himself is a CONVICTED VIOLENT FELON and spent years in PRISON. I saved the cached pages from the major search engines of the John Reed lawsuit with Russell Whitney and the TRUTH and FACTS that Reed discovered during his investigation of Whitney. I am posting this information on real estate discussion boards so other people do NOT get cheated and ripped off like I did.
