Britain’s most popular financial magazine says stay away from Whitney

‘Stay away when this circus comes to town’
Moneywise bills itself as “Britain’s most popular financial magazine.” Their investigative reporter Tony Hetherington wrote an article about Whitney’s real estate seminars, which have been offered in Britain in recent years. The headline in the June 2003 issue was, “Stay away when this circus comes to town.” You can read the whole article at http://www.moneywise.co.uk/investigationjune.htm
‘A load of old tosh’
Hetherington quotes one Brit as calling a “load of old tosh.” I’m not sure what that is, but it doesn’t sound complimentary.
Hetherington also emphasized the message of Whitney’s people to borrow, borrow, borrow—which he apparently disagreed with. I do, too. Leverage (borrowed money) is an important advantage of real estate, but it is also dangerous and must be used with care. Also, Whitney’s people seem more interested in getting you to borrow to pay them for seminars than to invest in real estate.
BBB and Tennessee
Hetherington mentioned Whitney’s unsatisfactory Better Business Bureau rating and his trouble with the Tennessee attorney general. He did not mention me, which is fine, but the BBB and TN mentions sound like Hetherington benefitted from researching at my Web site.
I was wondering how Britain was receiving Whitney. I would have thought they would be less inclined to fall for the Whitney pitch than Americans. Sounds like they are about the same as Americans: many gullible people and a few skeptical. I have not yet heard how Whitney’s real estate stuff is received in Canada.

CONSUMER WARNING NOTICE: I recently saw Russ Whitney on a late night TV infomercial and then attended one of his "free" seminars. Unfortunately I believed all of their LIES and FRAUDULENT CLAIMS and I paid thousands of dollars to go to his "training camps". Needless to say I was clearly ripped off, cheated and lied to by Russ Whitney and his employees (band of thieves). My mistake was not searching the Internet to find out more about Russ Whitney and his company's HORRIBLE reputation for fraud, deception and illegal activities. Had I searched online I would have found out about THOUSANDS of customers being cheated, HUNDREDS of investigations by the Attorney General into the fraud of Russ Whitney and his company's, and that Russ Whitney himself is a CONVICTED VIOLENT FELON and spent years in PRISON. I saved the cached pages from the major search engines of the John Reed lawsuit with Russell Whitney and the TRUTH and FACTS that Reed discovered during his investigation of Whitney. I am posting this information on real estate discussion boards so other people do NOT get cheated and ripped off like I did.
