| I was reading about this fellow named Barry Grimes, who has a 5 volume set about "Real Estate Jobbers." The cost for the set is $97.00. Has anybody ever done this before? Is it worth the money? And the big question, is, is what does this entail? Is it lucrative? just curious, and thanks all for any input. |

Lethul 1,
"Real Estate Jobbers" is the same concept as "Real Estate Bird Dogging" where basically you purchase some real estate seminar guru's books and training. Then you can go out and find real estate deals for the guru/investor and they will supposedly put up the money to buy the property. Then they say that they'll flip/sell, or renovate and sell, the property and you split the profits with them. It's a PIPE-DREAM and a CON-GAME so be careful not to get ripped-off!!! These types of scams have been investigated often by State Attorney General's and consumer protection agencies nationwide. When these "real estate investors/seminar guru's" are forced to produce documents to prove how many properties they have invested in with their customers the result is ALWAYS the same. The only investments they've made in these "Jobbers and Bird Dogging" programs is properties that they've bought with their FRIENDS as the "Jobber or Bird Dogger". They do that to cover up the scam and try to show that they are being "honest" when they say they will invest in good deals with you AFTER you buy their expensive books and training. They way the real estate seminar guru's make their money is by selling books and VERY expensive training, bootcamps, classes, etc.
I don't know anything about Barry Grimes or his "Real Estate Jobbers" course for $97. Maybe he is an honest person so I don't want to prejudge him without knowing more about him. However, I do know a lot about real estate seminar guru's and their courses/bootcamps/training/classes and how they operate. I was going to be an HONEST real estate speaker many years ago with a seminar company after my first few years investing in real estate. But when I saw how the seminar guru's and their companies are basically just a bunch of snake oil salesmen I said "NO THANKS I don't want to be involved with criminals"!!. They're immoral, greedy, liars, thieves and con artists!! They're excellent SALESMEN and know how to manipulate people's emotions to get them to buy ANYTHING! These snake-oil salesmen know how to pump up people's emotions with exaggerated testimonials and BS and make people think they'll be able to make $1 million in a few short years just by reading that guru's books or going to their training camp. Then when they've got people all excited thinking they've found the "fast-track" to financial freedom in real estate, the guru's hammer them with expensive books, CDs, and training camps.
Believe me, myself and people I've known have been in court with some of those guru thieves. Not only do they basically steal people's money with lies and cons but they commit copyright infringement from other real estate author's products and they get sued ALL THE TIME! The guru's have lawyers on their staff that get a paid a salary to keep their legal fees down because the guru's get hit with so many lawsuits and State/Federal criminal investigations.
So trust me, I can assure you that anything you see being pitched or sold by the real estate infomercial or seminar guru's is JUNK and BS!! You can go to your local public library and just get books on real estate that will honestly teach you how to invest in real estate and not give you a bunch of fluff and exaggerated lies. You can find out more from a site at http://www.johntreed.com/Reedgururating.html where John Reed does an examination of the guru's and removes all the fluff and reveals the BS with the seminar guru's.
When thinking about making a purchase of most items and services, you should always do a search online to find out more information about the product AND the company/owner. You should at least check the following:
1) BBB Better Business Bureau both nationally and locally (since many con artists and scam companies have offices in various states around the USA).
2) Federal and State Consumer Protection Agencies - they investigate fraud and problems with products, services and companies.
3) FTC Federal Trade Commission - they often investigate seminar guru's and products sold through TV and in many different states.
4) State Attorney General's offices - they often are involved in present/prior CRIMINAL investigations of seminar guru's in many different states.
5) Sites like Rip Off Report that have consumer complaints about products, services and companies online at http://www.ripoffreport.com/
6) Ask the agencies from this list about other sites that provide more information and research so you become an educated consumer before buying.
Remember the old saying - "If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!!" |
