Anthem, Arizona Continues Rapid Growth - 4/8/2005 - Real Estate House Home Condo

Anthem, Arizona Continues Rapid Growth
by Blanche Evans

Though originally designed as a master-planned community by a company known for its retirement demographic specialty, Anthem, Arizona, has much to offer all ages of homebuyers, say local Realtors.

"Anthem is located just off of I-17 about 30 miles north of downtown Phoenix," say Realtors Ron Wilczek and Cathrine Ball. "It's newer homes in a community setting. Homeowners get to experience life away from the busy city."

The team explains, "In 2001, Anthem was voted the "Best Master-Planned Community in America" by the National Association of Home Builders. Though this community was originally built by Del Webb, Del Webb has been purchased by Pulte Homes. USAA Insurance continues to build a major employment campus just a few miles south of Anthem. Anthem offers very strong home values to buyers who do not need to travel to the east valley every day. The number of resales and their prices are strongly increasing, and the typical days-on-market is decreasing."

"The Anthem housing market continued its strong showing and steady growth during 2004," say Realtors Suzanne and Tony Marriott. "Resale prices in Country Club and Parkside continue to surge upwards. The most recently available statistics for zip code 85086 show the number sold at 322 with a median price of $269,730 versus, the number sold of 236 with a median price of $235,100 for the same period a year earlier. This represents a 36 percent increase in number sold and a 14.7 percent increase in the median price year over year."

"Though this small city is just developing, don't be fooled," says Realtor Tram Chu. "Arizona's cities are growing rapidly by the year and Anthem is one of them. Even Six Flags saw a chance for potential in this city as they have confirmed there will be an amusement park built in 2008! Surrounded by outlets, homes, and new schools, it's a great place for a family to get a fresh new start. There are new homes constantly being built in this area, creating great new quality neighborhoods. Anthem is also known for their leisure-rich green golf courses and scenic environment."
