The event includes workshops geared towards mesothelioma patients and their families as well as meetings for medical professionals. Patients may attend both the scientific presentations and the workshops, or choose to participate in the workshops alone. Workshop topics include healing, loss of a loved one, emotional recovery, caring for the caregiver, and anger management. Families may also attend a moving "ceremony of remembrance of loved ones lost to mesothelioma." Although the focus of the program deals with mesothelioma, many of the workshops would be equally applicable to anyone dealing with a debilitating asbestos-related disease.
