Cape Coral's Miles Of Canals Make Waterfront Heaven For Homebuyers - 2/7/2005 - Real Estate House Home Condo

Cape Coral's Miles Of Canals Make Waterfront Heaven For Homebuyers
by Blanche Evans

For buyers wanting a waterfront lifestyle, Cape Coral's miles of canals to the Gulf of Mexico are in great demand, say local Realtors.

" Located west of Fort Myers, south of Sarasota and North of Marco Island, Florida," says Realtor Ruthann McBride, "and bordered on the east by the Caloosahatchee River and on the west by Matlacha Pass, Cape Coral offers thousands of waterfront properties, many of which have direct access to the Gulf of Mexico."

McBride explains, "Cape Coral became a city in 1970 and continues to be one of the fastest growing cities in Florida. It is the second largest city in the state and hosts thousands of waterfront homes on over 400 miles of canals. Many of these canals provide direct access to the Gulf of Mexico and Charlotte Harbor. Cape Coral has one of the largest populations of a "Species of Special Concern" in Florida - burrowing owls. Visitors and residents often see these little owls resting on perches throughout the city during nesting season. These adorable owls, along with great fishing and miles and miles of waterfront properties add to the charm and magnetic appeal that is Cape Coral."

Advises Realtor Lee Davidson, "Investment potential with gulf access for under $1,000,000.00? At least for now, but don't expect it to last long. Act now and take advantage of our growing inventory at yesterday's prices. Instead of saying, 'I can't afford it,' why not ask yourself 'How can I afford it?'"

"Cape Coral is a growing city with tons of opportunity for everyone and anyone," says Realtor Shawn McDonough. "It is a great place raise a family, start a business or get a job with one of the new companies that have also recently relocated to the area. Cape Coral is also a wonderful place to retire with some of the best golfing and boating opportunities to be found anywhere.

About the market, McDonough suggests, "The Cape Coral real estate market is very healthy. Once again Cape Coral has broken the top 10 for fastest growing cities. This is no surprise considering all that Cape Coral has to offer. Whether it is the boating, fishing, golfing, restaurants, or great weather Cape Coral does not disappoint. Another reason why Cape Coral is so popular is the variety of housing options that we have available."
