Flower Mound, Texas Offers Great Schools, D/FW Airport, Country Life - 11/18/2004 - Real Estate House Home Condo

Flower Mound, Texas Offers Great Schools, D/FW Airport, Country Life
by Blanche Evans

Offering the country life with big city amenities close by, Flower Mound, Texas has become one of Dallas-Fort Worth's most popular bedroom communities, particularly for those who need quick access to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

"Located slightly north and in-between Fort Worth and Dallas," says Realtor Michelle Long, "Flower Mound is approximately 20 minutes from D/FW airport. This mix of small business and residential area has good highway access which makes it another ideal area in which to buy. Homes tend to be slightly newer and larger than some of the surrounding areas and tend to sell more quickly if priced right and in good condition."

Says Realtor Marcia Monaco, "It's a country get-a-way with easy big city access and amenities! I'm very positive about Flower Mound! Located between Grapevine Lake to the south and Lewisville Lake to the north, and with the Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport within just a few miles, Flower Mound is considered and voted as one of the best places to live in America! Sprawled with rolling hills, 100+ year-old oak trees, prestigious master-planned communities, old-time country atmosphere, this town has it all! When folks come here, they just settle back, relax and make it home!"

Monaco explains, "There is still much new construction going on which is helping keep the prices from increasing at a double digit rate, but prices have stabilized after the recent recession and are on the rise. Existing home sales, especially in planned communities, have been moving quickly over the summer months and the trend seems to be continuing. New communities being developed within Flower Mound have larger lot sizes and the price tags seem to be going up accordingly. This is a "smart growth" town and new builds, including business growth, are closely scrutinized by the town board which keeps the values of homes in a positive light."

Agrees Realtor Jon Herd, "Flower Mound is truly a wonderful place to live. Lower property taxes does not mean lower school ratings. Flower Mound schools are top-rated schools. A great place to live and raise a family. Friendly people and neighbors make Flower Mound a very desirable place to live."
