Lifestyle 2000 House: Innovations in Concrete Masonry

The Lifestyle 2000 House was built by the NAHB Research Center in the NAHB National Research Home Park to test and demonstrate uses of innovative concrete masonry products in home building. The project focuses on the relationship of such products to energy conservation, productivity, utility integration, and reduced maintenance requirements in home construction.

The house and many of the masonry products used to build it were designed by the Product Development and Research Division of the National Concrete Masonry Association under the direction of Jorge Pardo, AIA. NCMA sponsored the construction of the house.

The Lifestyle 2000 House book can be purchased through our publications department.

A selected bibliography of articles written about the house is available.

Further information on the innovative products and systems used in the Lifestyle 2000 House is available from Rapid Building Systems.
