Make Your Home Designs Stand Out The 2005 NAHB/BALA Design Institute for Builders, set for June 13-15 at the Westin Tobin Center in Denver, will help builders break the home design mold and let them offer homes that stand out from their competition.
Inspiration Through Research Builders will learn the latest in residential housing design trends; tour award-winning homes and communities that display the latest in cutting-edge architectural design; and learn how to profitably apply these design ideas to the homes they build. Plus, attendees will also see where leading builders are taking their home designs. The conference also will feature world-class speakers including: Daniel Nahabedian, formerly of The Irvine Development Company and John Laing Homes; Heather McCune, editor-in-chief of Professional Builder magazine; Cheri Meyn , president of The Genesis Group; and Howard Englander, president of The Englander Company. Opportunities provided by educational sessions and tours include:
- New this year, Floor Plan Review Breakfast sessions will provide critiques by top architects.
- Approach design as a powerful team in an intensive, hands-on workshop about how to craft architecturally unique home designs as a team.
- Learn about design market trends in case studies of successful projects that focus on the specific market segments for which the homes were created.
- Tour visionary neighborhoods. Tours are planned for Stapleton, a tapestry of homes, shops, offices, parks and schools in a walkable city; and the largest “built green” community of its kind in North America, Tallyn’s Reach.
