New 3-D Panels Create Unique Wave Shapes From Flat Ceilings

07/07/2004
New BILLO™ 3-Dimensional Panels from USG Interiors, Inc. transform traditional, flat ceiling planes into a wave shape reminiscent of sails billowing on a blustery day.

This innovative ceiling joins the CURVATURA™ 3-D Ceiling System, GEOMETRIX™ Metal Ceiling Panels and the TOPO™ 3-Dimensional System in the USG Interiors family of three-dimensional specialty ceilings. The BILLO system consists of 2- by 2-foot pre-formed, lightweight LEXAN® infill panels. The panels can be installed either curved upward toward the ceiling or downward toward the floor, permitting customization of each ceiling and a myriad of patterns with just one simple panel shape. The semi-translucent infill panels can also be backlit with fluorescent strip fixtures or integrated with standard lay-in fixtures.

"The design community continues to express strong interest in three-dimensional ceilings, and BILLO panels provide a unique new option," said Graeme Gee, USG Interiors’ business manager, Specialty Ceilings. "The great thing about this system is that it enables design professionals to create custom, sophisticated curved ceiling treatments, yet it’s a ceiling that contractors can install quickly and economically."

The BILLO ceiling system is appropriate for all types of commercial applications. These include retail, hospitality, office, education, healthcare, transportation and entertainment environments.

BILLO 3-Dimensional Panels are available in five standard colors: clear translucent, blue translucent, glass green translucent, white translucent and white opaque. Custom colors are also available.

The panels install into 9/16-inch narrow profile and standard 15/16-inch DONN® Brand Suspension Systems, providing full ceiling accessibility.
