On-Site Energy Use In Homes

The figures represented in the pie chart and table was derived from the Residential Energy Consumption Survey (RECS) 1997, published November 1999 by the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

This data represents the estimated annual energy consumption of all U.S. single-family homes, both attached and unattached. At the time of RECS 1997, there were approximately 73,736,000 single-family homes in the United States; 4,213 households were surveyed.
