| Pennsylvania’s new Uniform Construction Code (UCC) became law on April 8, 2004. According to the Pennsylvania Builders Association, the UCC will regulate the construction, alteration, maintenance, repair and demolition of all buildings and structures. The UCC covers the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment within or attached to a building. Local municipalities have until August 10 to declare how they will oversee the new law.
