Realtor Predicts Record High Homes Sales In Sausalito, California - 11/12/2004 - Real Estate House Home Condo

Realtor Predicts Record High Homes Sales In Sausalito, California
by Blanche Evans

A local Realtor says strong demand and continuing low interest rates will fuel a record high in home sales for the Sausalito, California market.

"Sausalito covers a mere two and one half miles and is located just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, on the south-eastern tip of Marin County," says Realtor Ginger Hopp. "In Sausalito, you can find world-class hotels, numerous restaurants and a diverse selection of shopping opportunities, galleries and retail fashion shops. Businesses and property owners have made Sausalito their home base because of its proximity to San Francisco."

Hopp describes, "Sausalito is a small town of only 7,500 residents boasting spectacular waterfront views, while the hill-dwellers inhale its breath-taking views. Visitors marvel at its sumptuous mix of architecture. Sausalito home styles include Mediterranean, Victorian, classical turn of the Century, plus floating homes in harbors, marinas and yacht clubs abound. Incorporated in 1893, and named by 18th century Spanish explorers for the "little willow" trees (Saucelito) which were found in abundance on the banks of its streams, Sausalito is a beautiful waterfront community and a city that prides itself on a strong and unique spirit. Home of the 'Sausalito Art Festival,' Sausalito has many other events - from the 'Jazz & Blues By The Bay' concerts to 'Opera By The Bay' and the 'Caledonia Street Faire'; Sausalito offers a wide variety of entertainment for residents and visitors of all ages. There are over 20 park and beach facilities. Don't miss a stop at the world-renowned Marine Mammal Rescue Center."

She recalls, "I can remember window shopping Sausalito's Bridgeway on weekends with a group of my girlfriends. We never tired of the many Activities Sausalito offers, including walks through the Marin headlands, the children's Discovery Museum, or an Angel Island trip by ferry. We could rent a bike, boat, or seaplane, too. After spending a day gallery hopping... we would linger over a relaxing meal overlooking the bay. You can find it all by the bay, from superstar sushi to succulent seafood."

About the market, Hopp ventures, "The cost of financing remains historically low and I think strong demand should push home sales to another record high this year. 'Home sales are very sensitive to mortgage rates," said Frank Nothaft, Freddie Mac chief economist. 'The latest forecast expects a brisk housing industry through year-end. Single-family building is likely to remain strong this quarter, as evidenced by the pace of recent new-home sales. Overall, the economy remains supportive of both new and existing homes.'"
