Springfield, Missouri's Affordability Ignites Housing Sales - 4/28/2005 - Real Estate House Home Condo

Springfield, Missouri's Affordability Ignites Housing Sales
by Blanche Evans

Realtors in Springfield, Missouri, report that the affordability, among other attractions, of the city are making it interesting to homebuyers.

"Springfield is known as the "Queen City of the Ozarks" and is the hub of activity for all of Southwest Missouri and parts of Northwest Arkansas, and the gateway to the entertainment capital of the Midwest-Branson, Missouri," says Realtor Stacy K. Willhoit. "Home to Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, the Wonders of Wildlife Museum, Jordan Valley Park Civic Center and Ice Park, and various cultural and entertainment opportunities, Springfield is a great place to live and work."

About the market, Willhoit suggests, "The Springfield housing market remains strong, and the spring market is already heating up! New construction is at an all-time high in our location, and the "Queen City of the Ozarks" remains the ruling class of housing that is affordable to all! Whatever you are looking for... from a starter home to your castle in the sky...you can buy it here!"

Say Realtors with the Vigneaux Group, "Nestled in the Ozarks, Springfield and the surrounding towns are currently experiencing incredible growth while remaining one of the most affordable housing markets in the country. Springfield is still seeing strong sales and building is continuing to be very strong. Despite high gasoline prices and the threat of higher interest rates, home sales remain strong. Buyers and sellers are both experiencing growth in equity in the current market."

"Springfield's metro area includes 250,000 people with a very strong economy," say Realtors Jan and Don Jacques. "With the Bass Pro Shop in town and Silver Dollar City and the Branson Strip just 40 minutes away, there are lots of fun entertainment options. The Springfield market has remained strong. The new housing starts are remaining strong in the city, and in Greene County. The local economy remains strong and growing. All segments of the market remain strong. The downtown area is doing extremely well with building remodeling and loft apartments. Starter homes and move-up homes remain very active."
