Tour to Visit Modular and Panelized Plants Designed to take some of the mystery out of modular and panelized building systems, the upcoming Building Systems Councils Plant Tour will provide interested builders the chance to go behind the scenes at several manufacturing facilities in just two days.
The fastest growing segment of the residential construction industry, systems built housing allows builders to expand their building season and increase productivity. The May 22-24 tour will take attendees to six facilities near Charlotte, N.C. The event begins with a Golf Tournament and Welcome Reception on Sunday, May 22. Monday’s schedule features a tour of the 120,000-square-foot manufacturing facility of Deltec Homes, one of the nation’s leading round panel home manufacturers. Other stops include modular home manufacturer All-American Homes and manufacturer Cardinal Glass. Two modular manufacturers are on Tuesday’s itinerary — R-Anell Housing Group and Carolina Building Solutions. That day’s final stop is at Builders FirstSource, whose facility houses a lumber yard, truss production plant and window shop. Builders on the tour will see the quality and efficiency of modular and panelized homes and have the chance to meet and network with building systems professionals from across the country.
