Virginia's Fairfax County Still Reports Fair-Weather Sales - 10/13/2004 - Real Estate House Home Condo

Virginia's Fairfax County Still Reports Fair-Weather Sales
by Blanche Evans

Local Realtors all agree on one thing, housing sales in Fairfax County, Virginia continue to be more than fair.

"Fairfax County is located just outside Washington, DC and offers an outstanding quality of life," says Realtor John Thompson. "Fairfax County has established a reputation as an international center for technology, communications and transportation. Fairfax is widely known for its beautiful scenery, rich history and strong sense of community. The county also enjoys a reputation for high quality services, including one of the nation's leading public school systems."

Thompson advises, "A strong seller's market continues to dictate Northern Virginia real estate conditions. Limited inventory in single family, townhouse and condominium markets have resulted in stiff competition between ready, willing and able buyers. Buyers must have realistic purchase expectations and be prepared to do what is necessary to make winning purchase offers. New homes are also facing limited inventory issues."

"Burgeoning Fairfax County offers everything within it's own county lines and robust economy while also serving as a Washington, DC commuter's suburban haven," suggests Realtor Adam Im. "Fairfax County continues to have strong sales with buyer demand very strong and forecasted to continue. Offering a variety of homes and locations, Fairfax county is a major economic success and an ideal place for living in the metro DC area. Strong job growth and buyer appeal makes Fairfax county a strong buy."

Suggests Realtor Lee Gregory Group, "The number of new listings of existing homes has slowed in recent weeks and available homes that are offered at realistic prices continue to receive multiple bids. New home builders still have long waiting lists of potential buyers."
