The Blue Ridge area of Georgia includes beautiful mountains, lakes and creeks, where many Altantans get away on the weekends to commune with nature. Low interest rates are making prices slowly rise, says a local Realtor.
"The convenient commute from Atlanta to the Blue Ridge mountains has made our area one of the most raved about for a weekend cabin," says Realtor Tanya Bailey ( Insulation Air Vapor Barriers (Vapor Retarders), Venting Roofs, Venting Living Spaces, Attics ). "Only 1.5 hours from Atlanta for most people, and so much beauty and peace to take in. The mountains with all their breathtaking views to the creeks running through the woods, and the wonderful Lake Blue Ridge surrounded by all of these mountains. With hiking/biking trails, Toccoa River to canoe or tube, this is an outdoors person's paradise."
Lake Blue Ridge
"Lake Blue Ridge is a beautiful lake covering over 3,000 acres surrounded by mountains," says Bailey. "It is fast becoming one of the most popular areas for weekend homes for Atlantans. Also, minutes from Aska Rd and the Toccoa River. Lake Blue Ridge is still growing as a very popular area for weekend cabins. The prices continue to rise as the demand greatens. Most people are realizing that if they want to find their place on this great lake, they need to start their search now.
"Up and coming town within minutes of the Ocoee River and Whitewater Rafting Center," says Bailey, "Duckstown is a good area to buy now before prices start to rise.
She explains, "Ducktown is starting to grow due to the fact that it is minutes from the Ocoee River and Whitewater Rafting Center that was the location for the '96 Olympics. There are some beautiful views and great mountains such as at Campbell Cove Lake where there are still nice lots available and some homes surrounding the lake. Copperhill, Tn is also closely located with its nice restaurants, antique stores, and the stopping site for the Scenic Railway that runs from Blue Ridge."
