Image Text: This is not good practice - although the fused disconnect protects the feed wire from OVERLOADING, a short circuit (as shown) could be enough to overheat the feed wire without either the disconnect fuses or the main fuses "noticing" > distribution panel > 100 amps from service box > stove > main bus bars > 15 amp fuse > neutral bus bar > 8 gauge copper feed wire connected directly to main panel bus bars > nail driven into wire causes short circuit > 40 amp fused disconnect switch > 60 amp rated subpanel
