Image Text: Step 1: remove broken slate > 1 inch to 2 inches wide > 8 inches to 16 inches long > Step 2: nail metal strip (preferably copper) in place as shown > Step 3: slide new late underneath two overlying slates and bend up metal strip at bottom to form cradle
