Kitchen Safety

Why did I include the chapters about Home Safety and Health Concerns? All of my books were written to help people with the biggest investment they make - their own home! I was in the process of updating my real estate books and DVDs that I authored. Part of my research for those book updates dealt with home safety, energy efficiency, and health concerns in homes. I went through thousands of pages of documents, brochures, and studies compiled by the Home Safety Council (HSC), the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and all of their associated groups and laboratories. There was a tremendous amount of useful information that was extremely well researched and analyzed by the HSC, DOE, and EPA. The HSC, DOE, EPA, and their associated laboratories have spent many millions of dollars analyzing home safety, energy usage, energy saving technologies, and health concerns for residential and commercial buildings.

I read through the thousands of pages of documents from the HSC, DOE, and EPA. Then I selected, sorted, and compiled the research dealing with residential homes. The finished result are these Home Safety and Health Concerns chapters with all of the available research dealing with topics that home owners, buyers, sellers, builders, contractors, and real estate professionals would need or want to know. I cannot say enough about how impressed I am at the excellent research and data compiled by the HSC, DOE, EPA, and their associated laboratories and research affiliates. Their work on home safety, energy efficiency, and health concerns in homes and buildings is truly outstanding and the information they have gathered should be utilized by everyone involved in real estate.

Some readers of this book may not be interested in learning very in-depth information about home safety. They may only be interested in getting a general working knowledge of home safety topics. For those readers, I would recommend that you don't get too caught up in trying to memorize the in-depth details discussed in the HSC, DOE, and EPA sections. Choose the topics that you feel are most useful to you for now, and then you can learn the more in-depth topics later if needed.

Real Estate Advice Education House Inspection Appraisal Home Improvement Renovation  I won't include the icon keys for safety items in the HSC, DOE, and EPA sections of the book. The reason I'm not including them in those sections is because they would be filled with safety issues and there would be icon keys for just about every paragraph!

Note: Some of the information contained in different sections of the Home Safety chapter are similar. This is because there are many important aspects that pertain to both sections discussed.
