Real Estate Appraisers are not required to be home inspectors. However, I will include these sections anyway to give you some basic details about home inspections.



Check all asphalt and concrete driveways for cracked and uneven sections. Asphalt driveways need to be sealed with a driveway sealer every two or three years to prevent them from drying out and cracking. Repaving an asphalt driveway can be expensive. If the driveway needs to be repaved, tell the client to get an estimate.

Some driveways don't have a finished surface and are made of gravel and dirt. Often they have holes which are tripping hazards that need to be repaired. Unfinished driveways lead to people tracking dirt into the house. These driveways also cannot be shoveled for snow removal in northern areas.
